Adiós 2010 – An obituary !!

As 2K11 dawns, I am thinking about 2010. Usually my years pass silently, but there was something special about 2010. I still remember its birth and just now I’ve attended its funeral ceremony. A very short life span of 365 days !!

This 2K10 has got a great deal of importance in my life. I still remember that day when 2010 was born. It was some 365 days back. I was surrounded by my friends, my dear dearest gang mates and I was narrating some sort of useless stories about my life. We had a delicious pista flavored cake (selected by me) on the New Year eve and it took another two days for us to finish that new year cake. We limited our celebrations with some murmuring and laughter which later transformed to memories, sometimes even sweeter than a cake. At sharp 12 am, we welcomed 2010 together and even now I can feel the warmth of their hugs. Time passed and all of my friends fell asleep and only one was awake with me for the whole night and she shared with me my grief and concerns about my future.

For the first time in my life, I worked in the college magazine committee representing 2K10 batch and our venture, “An Epistle” was released in February. When I received a copy for myself, I felt an unknown happiness thinking about the sweetness of the fruit of our efforts for an year.

In the month of March, I attended the first interview in my life which gifted me my first job. I was happy because my friends celebrated the happiness of this achievement at that time of recession. March was a bit noisy. We celebrated our final days in our college and on March 26th our college ground witnessed the final event of 2K10 batch, “Adieus ’10”. We silently evacuated the stage with twinkling tears reflecting the light of glowing candles.

I wrote my final degree exam in the month of April and I became a BTech graduate in Computer Science and Engineering. I silently returned to my home ignoring the fact that some colors of life are lost forever. I entered my first job on May 24th and got my first salary on June 30th. In July, for the first time I bought gift packets for my family with the money which was earned by “me” and it was really a great experience.

In August, I started serious blogging. On August 14, when all were busy with the independence day celebrations, I was in search of a reason for my unknown sadness. At last, my search came to an end at the lonely streets in North India and it made me realize that I can write something worth reading and I posted my first “serious” blog article – “On this great day”.
